Today Square Enix released a batch of new concept art and screenshots of its survival shooter Left Alive.

Interestingly, the artwork showcases more of the world in ruins that will serve as a backdrop from the game. We clearly see some signage in Cyrillic, which appears to confirm that the city portrayed (which was named “Novo Slava” in the first full trailer) may be set in or around Russia.

While it’s hard to say for now, it appears that the protagonist might have been “left alive” behind enemy lines, having to survive in the harsh war-torn environment.

The game is especially interesting due to the staff behind it, including Metal Gear Solid artist Yoji Shinkawa, Director Toshifumi Nabeshima (known for the Armored Core series) and Mecha Designer Takayuki Yanase (known for Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and Xenoblade Chronicles X).

You can check out the assets below, and if you want to see more, you can also watch the original teaser trailer and the first full trailer.

Left Alive will be released for PlayStation 4 and PC (via Steam) in 2018.
