Devil May Cry 5 is currently playable at Gamescom 2018 in Cologne, and today I got to go up close and personal with the Xbox One version of the game running on Xbox One X.

I honestly have no words to describe how impressed I am with the game’s visuals. They look extremely detailed, and the game felt smooth as silk. This is a testament to the Resident Evil Engine, which appears to be very capable with a genre that is definitely very different from Biohazard.

The action feels extremely good, and I really enjoyed my limited time with Nero. Unfortunately, the Goliath got the best of me at the end of the level, but I’d say I need some work getting used to the controls to win against that one.

Devil May Cry 5 releases on March 8th, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
