Control’s Newest Dev Diary Reveals More Information About the Game’s Setting

505 games, News, Originals, PC, PS4, Remedy Entertainment, Xbox One

Remedy Entertainment has today released the third entry in their ongoing dev diary series all about the studio’s upcoming project, Control.

In today’s episode, Sam Lake and other members of the team at Remedy focus on discussing the world and setting of Control. The game takes place in a location known as The Oldest House, which is the headquarters for the Department of Control. Lake also cites the brutalist architectural style found in The Oldest House as being based on skyscrapers found in New York City. Game director Mikael Kasurinen also spoke in depth to us about this style and why it was important for the game’s world at E3.

Narrative lead Anna Megill also says that the style of The Oldest House and its orderly look is meant to clash with that of the chaotic enemies and powers you will be using in the game. The team also touches on how this world will have much more depth to it than you might expect, with Megill describing it as “a world within a location.”

If you want to listen to the full dev diary on Control and The Oldest House, you can check it out below. The previous dev diary for Control focused on the gameplay aspect of the game, and you can check that out by clicking here if you haven’t already watched it.

Control doesn’t have a release date just yet but it’s scheduled to arrive in 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
