In a world of where sweeping landscapes and jaw-dropping visuals have become the norm, looking back to an older and more intense time is often considered a welcomed break. Blazing Chrome is set to catapult players back to the last century in a wave of no-nonsense shooter-inspired action.
Blazing Chrome from Brazilian indie development team JoyMasher and publisher The Arcade Crew is a shooter that draws inspiration from classics of yesteryear such as Contra and Metal Slug. The fast-paced 2D title features a selection of characters who are armed to the teeth with heavy weaponry to get the jump on enemies in any given scene.
The latest trailer, which can be viewed below, focuses on some of the game’s environments featuring finely detailed pixelated renditions of dystopian landscapes. Destroyed cars and broken shards of metal are seen throughout the video as characters charge headlong through desolate streets, dusty dunes, snowy forests, and a number of well-fortified bases.
We also get a glimpse of a jet-pack themed level that sees players blast their play through tunnels using a camera angle that is reminiscent of old-school SEGA titles such as Super Thunder Blade and Space Harrier.
Blazing Chrome will be bringing its brand of arcade-style action to PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch early next year.
