It looks like we won’t be able to buy PixelJunk Sidescroller after this week due to some limited music licensing agreements between Sony America and some licensing agents.
Dylan Cuthbert, founder of Q-games and the creator of the PixelJunk series, tweeted about the weird licensing issue.
Due to a time limited music licensing agreement between Sony America and the licensing agents (that I wasn’t involved in and thought the license was in perpetuity tbh) there is a possibility that you will not be able to purchase PixelJunk SideScroller after this week.

Dylan also said that the agents and sony are still in negotiations, but he just found out last week. So, he doesn’t believe there will be any way to save the game.
It is sad to see this. Developers who pour their heart and soul into a game just for it to get shut down later down the road because of some miscommunication between licensing between agents and developers. If you would like to play the game before it is shut down, it is still available for PS3.
