With just over a week left until its release, we won’t have too much longer to wait until we can head back into Raccoon City in Resident Evil 3, the upcoming remake of the beloved series classic. Though Nemesis is going to be the game’s core antagonist, let’s see how he holds up against the likes of Thomas the Tank Engine.

In true internet fashion, Thomas the Tank Engine has already made his way into Resident Evil 3 through the work of modders that added him into the game through the recently-released demo on consoles and PC. As you can expect, seeing a horde of zombies is terrifying enough, but seeing the blood-curdling smile and sight of Thomas the Tank Engine is an entirely different level of terror. You can check out a few videos of the Thomas the Tank Engine mod in action below from the demo.

With last year’s Resident Evil 2, we saw plenty of modders get crafty by replacing the game’s most terrifying foe, Mr. X, with a variety of different characters. Though naturally Thomas the Tank Engine made an appearance, we also saw RE2 reconfigured with other terrors like It‘s Pennywise the Clown and the titular Goose from Untitled Goose Game.

Given that Nemesis plays such a huge part of Resident Evil 3 as an unrelenting force that stalks you throughout the game, it will be interesting to see what else modders can come up with when the full game releases next week. Thankfully, at least the internet is being reliable in keeping an old meme running strong. Long live Thomas the Tank Engine.

Resident Evil 3 will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3, 2020, and you can pre-order the game right now over on Amazon.
