Today Sega showcased an extensive segment of gameplay of the upcoming Yakuza 2 remake Yakuza Kiwami 2.

We get an extensive look at the English localization, lots of brutal fighting, minigames, karaoke and… Goro Majima selfies.

If you’re not familiar with Yakuza Kiwami 2, it’s the full remake of the original Yakuza 2, originally released for PS2 in 2006. It’s remade using the same Dragon Engine used in Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, and let me tell you: having almost finished the game in Japanese, it looks and plays handsomely. That’s not surprising considering that Yakuza 2 has always been the best game of the franchise (and I’ll fight you over this).

You can check it out below. If you want to see more, you can enjoy the E3 trailer, and the extended version of the original announcement trailer.

In other Yakuza news, PC gamers should not feel left out, because they’re soon going to get both Yakuza Zero and Yakuza Kiwami on Steam. I would be very surprised if Sega did not move forward with Kiwami 2 and the rest of the series afterward. Recently we also received word that the spinoff Hokuto Ga Gotoku is coming west as well for PS4.

The game will release in North America and Europe on August 28th, exclusively for PS4. You can already pre-order Yakuza Kiwami 2 on Amazon.
