As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. At least, that is Nintendo’s stance about the much-anticipated Xenoblade Chronicles 2 update that was planned to roll out a New Game Plus mode. In a recent update, Japanese developer Monolith Soft let anxious players know that they shouldn’t be expecting the patch until the first week of March 2018.

Revealed on Twitter by the official (Japanese) Xenoblade Chronicles 2 account, Monolith Soft mentioned how the update should be launching on March 2, 2018:

Why the delay? According to the tweet, it’s because a bug in the version was uncovered last minute — one critical enough to delay the overall launch.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Version 1.3.0 update was revealed in late January, and that the New Game Plus mode would be free for everyone with the game — not just the people who own the season pass. That mode will allow the Blades from Torna to join the player’s party, as well as well as Akhos, Patroka, and Mikhail. For a full list of details on what is included in the update, you can check out Takahashi-san’s list of changes.

If you haven’t yet grabbed Xenoblade Chronicles 2 — you should. On top of the game’s strong launch sales, the DualShockers review awarded the game a 9.5 out of 10.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is available now, exclusively on Nintendo Switch; as mentioned above, the New Game Plus mode comes with the rest of Update 1.3.0 on March 3, 2018.
