Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Gets New Art and Video of New Blade by Boogiepop Artist

Monolith Soft, Nintendo, Originals, Switch, Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Monolith Soft is continuing to trickle down artwork and videos of the Blades included in its upcoming JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on its official Twitter account.

This time around we see another rare blade named “Shiki,” with a peculiar hollow stomach. Her looks were created by Boogiepop character designer Kouji Ogata, and her voice is lent by  Mamiko Noto, who voiced Moto Tonomura in Boogiepop Phantom, Ciel in God Eater 2, and Fuuka Yamagishi in Persona 3 (and the resemblance does not escape me).

Nothing else was shared about the blade, but her design is definitely interesting. Once more, it shows Nintendo’s dedication to making the rare blades unique and appealing by hiring top talent for their design and voices.

You can check the original artwork and a video below. If you want to see more you can also check out two characters designed by Tetsuya Nomura, one by Code Geass character designer Takahiro Kimuramore screenshots and a video from a few days ago, and another large batch from earlier last week. You can also watch some recent gameplay, and the latest trailer.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will hit the shelves worldwide exclusively for Nintendo Switch on December 1st.
