WWE 2K18 Adds Papa Shango and Albert to the Game’s Huge Roster

Just when you thought the WWE 2K18 roster could not get any larger, more surprise additions have made their way to the game’s list of playable characters. Papa Shango and Albert have are now part of 2K Games’ latest addition to the wrestling franchise.

Papa Shango is one of the many gimmicks WWE Hall of Famer Charles Wright assumed during his tenure with the company. However, he is primarily known as his persona, The Godfather, where he became an Intercontinental Champion when he defeated Goldust in 1999. Wright was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016 under the popular gimmick. The Godfather is one of the many playable characters in WWE 2K18‘s roster.

Albert is one of many personas assumed by professional wrestler Matt Bloom. The former Intercontinental Champion has also made WWE in-ring appearances as Prince Albert, A-Train, and Lord Tensai. Bloom also made a name for himself in several wrestling promotions such as All Japan Pro Wrestling, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and Pro Wrestling Noah as Giant Bernard. He is currently the head coach of WWE’s development league, NXT.

This isn’t the first surprise addition WWE 2K18 has received. It was also revealed that WWE Chairman and CEO, Vince McMahon, will be playable in 2K Games’ new wrestling title.

WWE 2K18 will launch for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 17. The Nintendo Switch version will release sometime this Fall. Players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition of the game will be able to play WWE 2K18 four days early.
