Square Enix released new screenshots and information for World of Final Fantasy Maxima, revealing new mirages, and a new bonus boss battle with Enna Kros.

World of Final Fantasy is a spinoff of the Final Fantasy RPG series, featuring its iconic characters and monsters represented in an SD style.  The monsters and summons specifically are called “mirages” in this game, and we get to capture and use them in battles, just like in the Megami Tensei or Pokemon games.

World of Final Fantasy is currently available on PC, PS4, and PS Vita. If you’d like to know more, you can read our review of the game. Meanwhile, World of Final Fantasy Maxima is an enhanced version coming for Switch and Xbox One. All the additions from Maxima will be added to the PC, PS4 and Vita versions of the game via DLC.

The first new piece of information concerns new Mirages that will be added with Maxima:

  • Mel, an S-sized mirage with the attack “Thunderbolt” that deals thunder magic damage to all enemies.
  • Dramuth, an S-sized mirage with the attack  “Petit Flare” that deals fire magic damage to one enemy.
  • Shiva Ixion, an L-sized mirage with the attack “Icicle Turn” that deals ice magic damage and inflicts Slow status effect to one enemy.
  • Syldra, an L-sized mirage with the attack “Mega Thunder Storm” that deals thunder magic damage to all enemies.

Both Mel and Dramuth are from the World of Final Fantasy Meli Melo mobile game.

When reaching a certain point in the story, you’ll also be able to challenge the Goddess Enna Kros at Nine Wood Hills’s coffee shop.

All the screenshots are included below. You can also watch the first trailer for the game here.

World of Final Fantasy Maxima releases on Switch and Xbox One on November 6th. The game can also be pre-ordered for Xbox One on Amazon.
