Watch Dogs Is Available for Free This Week on PC via Uplay

Deals & Sales, Originals, PC, Platforms, Ubisoft, Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs – the precursor to last year’s Watch Dogs 2 – will be available on PC starting tomorrow, November 7, through November 13 for free.

The only string attached? In order to take advantage of this deal, players will need to register for Ubisoft’s free Uplay service. Players may have come across Uplay before if they’ve played any recent Ubisoft game, all of whom offer additional unlockables for players for games such as Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Rainbow Six: Siege. Earning achievements in Ubisoft game often nets players Uplay currency which can be spent on in-game skins, soundtracks, and emblems.

Watch Dogs was released back in 2014 and managed to blend the open world of the Grand Theft Auto series with the stealth aspects of an Assassin’s Creed game. Driving through the streets of Chicago, for instance, is made more exciting by hacking bollards and streetlights to get the police off of your tail. The sequel to the open-world hacking experience was released back in 2016.

If the current AAA lineup of Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Super Mario Odyssey, Call of Duty: WWII, or Need for Speed: Payback don’t appeal to you, Watch Dogs is a great game to pick up if you haven’t before, and an especially good pickup for free.
