Just yesterday at X018, Microsft announced the acquirement of a few different studios, one of them being the RPG development studio Inxile Entertainment. The acquisition is great for both parties because the mega-company that Microsft is can lend a hand financially to create bigger titles. However, now that the development studio is owned by Microsft, would some of their games be coming to other platforms as promised? Well, it looks like Wasteland 3 and The Bard’s Tale IV, will still be multiplatform, but Inxile stated that beyond those titles, they are not sure.

Below, you can find a tweet from Inxile Entertainment addressing the issue.

Reading the tweet above, it looks like the RPG development studio is going to keep all their backer commitments they promised for both Wasteland 3 and The Bard’s Tale IV. Of course, releasing on Xbox One and PC isn’t an issue because Microsft owns storefronts for both platforms. However, both titles are also slated to release on PS4 and MAC.

Now I am not a backer of either of the two games, but if I was, I wouldn’t be very happy if I was going to get it on PS4 and then it was suddenly not going to release on the system because of the Microsft acquisition. It is nice to see that they are going to follow through on all of their commitments. Although, it is understandable that the water might be a little muddy when discussing platforms for later titles now that they are owned by Microsft.

The Bard’s Tale 4 is currently out now on PC and is coming to MAC, Xbox One, and PS4 sometime soon. Wasteland 3 is currently set to release sometime in 2019 for PC, MAC, Xbox One, and PS4.
