With Season Two approaching Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, fans are noticing a distress signal occurring more and more frequently. This isn’t the first time Call of Duty has featured easter eggs and teasers leading up to a new season. You can check out the official Season Two Gameplay Trailer below!
What Is The Warzone Distress Signal?
Many fans have taken to Reddit to point out the strange occurrences happening during their games of Warzone. The distress signal appears to be an encrypted morse code signal, that causes the outside of a player’s screen to fuzz up like an old static television. Other fans have pointed out that this isn’t the only type of distress signal happening throughout Verdansk. Another Reddit user claims to have heard a Russian voice during their game of Warzone. The user states that the voice only lasted for about 10 seconds and that it mentions a missing target.
The various distress signals appear to be around the idea of a specific target, and the location of said target. One Warzone fan thinks they’ve cracked the morse code, claiming that it translates to F8, which is a location on the map Verdansk.
It’s likely that these easter eggs will tie in with the changes coming to Verdansk when Season Two begins, so get ready for a brand new Warzone experience.
Are There Warzone Changes Coming Soon?
Shortly put, yes. The arrival of a new season means lots of changes are coming to Warzone. As well as new points of interest coming in Season Two, there will be a total of four new operators set to arrive throughout the course of the season. These operators are:
- Naga (Warsaw Pact)
- Samantha Paxis (NATO)
- Terell Wolf (NATO)
- Karla Rivas (NATO)
There will also be six new weapons for players to obtain either through the battle pass, or included during the season’s progress. These weapons are:
- FARA 83 (Assault Rifle)
- LC10 (Sub-Machine Gun)
- Machete (Melee)
- E-Tool (Melee)
- R1 Shadow Hunter (Crossbow)
- ZRG 20mm (Sniper Rifle)
Season Two Release Date
Season Two of Cold War and Warzone is set to kick off on February 25, 2021. So make sure to max out your current battle pass before it resets!
