After being first unveiled late in 2018, Humble Bundle and Blue Manchu have today announced the release date for the first-person action title Void Bastards.

Void Bastards is slated to come to both Xbox One and PC later this month on May 29. It’s a much earlier date than I originally expected, but one that I’m sure potential players of the game aren’t complaining about. At launch, the game will be available via Steam, Humble Bundle, and on Xbox One, will be available via Xbox Game Pass right out of the gate.

Void Bastards is the second game developed by Blue Manchu, a team comprised of developers that in the past worked on Bioshock and System Shock 2. The game has much in common with those aforementioned titles, while also sharing some common DNA with the roguelike genre. As Blue Manchu’s Jonathan Chey told us last year though, he wouldn’t necessarily describe the game as fitting into the roguelike genre due to how the structure of Void Bastards differs just a bit.

Alongside the release date announcement today, Humble Bundle also released a new trailer for Void Bastards. The trailer in question is pretty short but it continues to show off the rad comic book-inspired art style that the game has. While I don’t know if Void Bastards will end up being quite good just yet considering I’ve never played the game, I’m more than willing to give it a shot purely based on the neat graphics.
