Velocity 2X will be getting a physical collector’s edition for Nintendo Switch that will go up for pre-order for €49.99 EUR ($51.35 USD) starting on Sunday, January 27, 2019 through Strictly Limited Games.
The physical collector’s edition will include a copy of the game on a Nintendo Switch game cartridge, a soundtrack CD, artbook, and poster. There are only 1500 copies worldwide and each are individually numbered. Strictly Limited may be European-based but they do ship internationally. A regular physical version of Velocity 2X with just the Nintendo Switch game cartridge will also be available for €29.99 EUR ($34.23 USD) with only 2500 copies available. Lastly, a Velocity 2X aluminum plate art card will be available as well, with only 199 pieces made. The weight is 0.23 kg and its dimensions are 14 x 17 cm.
While pre-orders will go up very soon, shipments of the game isn’t expected until late February or March due to long production time of Nintendo Switch games.
A physical version of Velocity 2X for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita via BadLand Publishing in March of 2018 though there was unfortunately an error with the cover art for the Vita version advertising content that was not included.
Velocity 2X is a sci-fi shmup platformer from developer FuturLab that released in 2014 for the PlayStatoin 4 and PlayStation Vita systems. It was later ported to PC and Xbox One in August of 2015 and came to Nintendo Switch in September of 2018 with help from publisher Curve Digital. Strictly Limited Games is a Stuttgart, Germany based publisher of titles such as Wonder Boy Returns, Fox N Forests, and Tokyo 42 which are currently still available for purchase on their website.
