While the Valkyrie Profile series has not seen a new mainline entry on consoles in years, Square Enix is better at acknowledging it within the mobile gaming scene. In 2016, a new mobile game titled Valkyrie Anatomia: The Origin was released for iOS and Android in Japan, and earlier this year Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, originally an enhanced PSP version of the PlayStation Classic, also released on mobile devices.
Square Enix is acknowledging the series once more on iOS and Android today, as a Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth crossover event has begun in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. This event began today, and is poised to run through November 8. For those who still haven’t picked up Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth yet, Square Enix has also discounted the game to $15.99 on the App Store and Google Play Store.
Through this event, players will be able to summon Arngrim, Freya, Jelanda, Lenneth, and Lucian from Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, and can permanently add them to their collection so they stay even after crossover event ends. During the event period players will be able to face off against Barbarossa in a raid event set in the Lost City of Dipan, while the Tower of Lezard Valeth will be available to explore and fight enemies in starting on November 2.
While it still isn’t a new game in the Valkyrie Profile series, this event at least gives series fans something to sink their teeth into, even if the collaboration only lasts for a couple of weeks. Currently, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth and Final Fantasy Brave Exvius are both available on iOS and Andorid.
