Today Valkyria Chronicles 4’s official Twitter account “Nikola and Kiara’s Infiltration Diary” disclosed gameplay footage of three new characters of the game.

The first is Vuanti (or maybe Wanty, depending on how her name will be transliterated), who is basically a constantly intoxicated drunkard shocktrooper.

The second character is Odin, a scout that appears to be way too proud of his namesake. Incidentally, we see him as a scout elite, with a grenade launcher mounted on his rifle.

The third character is Meybel, a beautiful sniper that also shows off the Brave system, which is a new mechanic that will allow characters in a new-death situation to either continue fighting or provide a buff to their companions.

If you want to try the game for yourself, a demo is currently available on the Japanese PlayStation Store. If you’d rather just watch what it looks like, you can enjoy about an hour of gameplay on PS4 Pro (even if on a closer examination, we noticed that there seem to be basically no specific PS4 Pro support implemented in the demo itself, not that the game doesn’t look awesome anyway), and the charming opening cutscene.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 will release in North America and Europe for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in 2018. It will hit the shelves in Japan for PS4 on March 21st, 2018 and for Nintendo Switch later in the summer.
