This week, Ubisoft launched Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered after previously announcing it back in January.  A video was also released that features better graphics as well as some improvements to gameplay.  The remastered game also supports 4K resolution for Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue is the story of Shay Patrick Cormac who turns his back on the Assassin Brotherhood after a mission goes tragically wrong. In this game, players are on the side of the Templars, the Assassin Brotherhood’s most avowed enemy.

The video details some of the new gameplay features. Shay’s ship, the Morrigan, has new armaments like bow mounted cannons and an ice ram to cut through ice sheets in the North Atlantic. On land, Shay is able to move around more quickly on rooftops using swinging ropes and horizontal ziplines. Players can also detect assassins through listening for ominous whispering and using their enhanced Eagle Vision which is helpful, given the amount of them that are after Shay. A variety of ammunition is also available for Shay’s silent air rifle. Compared to other Assassin’s Creed games, Shay gets away with a lot of collateral damage and will not be immediately penalized for killing civilians.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered is currently available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For 4K resolution, it is available on Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro.  You can watch the video detailing the changes below, and you can also read a review from when the game originally launched back in 2014.
