Ubisoft has today announced a new executive move that will take place beginning in 2019.

Current Chief Financial Officer Alain Martinez will officially retire from the company at the end of 2018 and as of now, we know that Frédérick Duguet will take over that role. Duguet is currently Ubisoft’s Chief Financial Planning Officer and has held the position since 2009.

Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot commented on the shift that will take place in the coming months and gave the following statement.

“The appointment of Frédérick as Ubisoft’s Chief Financial Officer is excellent news for the Group. His expertise, intimate knowledge of the company and deep understanding of the value creation drivers in the video game industry are all assets that will greatly aid Ubisoft in its new development phase. On behalf of all Ubisoft teams, I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to Alain for his unfailing commitment throughout his 19 years with the company. With passion and rigour, Alain has been instrumental in shaping Ubisoft’s success and the Group’s profile as we know it today.”

Ubisoft says that Duguet will work with Martinez over the coming months to ensure that the transition to taking over the CFO role will be smooth. Duguet will serve as CFO effective January 1, 2019.
