Ubisoft Announces Its First Virtual Gaming Assistant Sam

Virtual assistants have been around; from Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, and Microsoft’s Cortana, the usage of virtual assistants is growingly at an alarming rate, with new products entering the market on a consistent basis. That being said, today French publisher, Ubisoft has announced that it will join the virtual assistant scene.

According to the press release, Sam is an artificial intelligence software, which will enhance the overall gaming experience for players. Much like other virtual assistants, Sam utilizes voice queries and a natural language user interface to attempt to answer questions the user may have, including information Ubisoft titles, such as release dates, new trailers, and Easter Eggs just to name a few.

However, one of the most exciting features Sam provides is its ability to give tips and hints for games the user is playing. By connecting to your Ubisoft Club account, Sam analyzes your profile and offers helpful suggestions to help get the most out of your gaming experience.

Currently, an open beta version of Sam is accessible now through the free Ubisoft Club mobile app. Unfortunately, Sam is only available exclusively for Canadian phone owners. Fortunately, the publisher has confirmed that it intends on extending the open beta to more markets over the next several months.
