Just over an hour ago, Nintendo unveiled the Nintendo Labo, a kit-based DIY cardboard peripheral for the popular Nintendo Switch. Utilizing the Joy-Cons in a variety of different ways, Nintendo Labo allows players to build a variety of different things out of cardboard, like a house, a fishing rod, or a piano. After building these objects, players can interact with them in a variety of different games.

While the two currently revealed Nintendo Labo kits aren’t poised to hit store shelves until April 20, some Nintendo fans in the New York and San Francisco areas who also happen to be parents may be able to try out the Nintendo Labo early. This will be done via the Nintendo Labo Studio, a three-hour event that will take place on February 2-3 in New York City and March 2-4 in San Francisco.

Sign-ups are currently open for the event on the Nintendo Labo’s official site. The only requirements are that you live in the San Francisco or New York areas, and have a child between the ages of 6 and 12. All one has to do is sign into their Nintendo account and click on the sign-up links for the individual regions. People will be notified via email if they get into the event.

Sign-ups will last until 11:59pm PT on January 21, or until all slots fill up. The Nintendo Labo Variety Kit and Nintendo Labo Robot Kit are currently set to launch on April 20, 2018.
