Trails of Cold Steel 4 Trailer Gives First Look at a Hero from the Past

This afternoon, NIS America released on their Twitter the first of their “Voices of Zemuria” series of trailers which feature clips of characters, new and returning, that will be appearing in this fall’s conclusion of the Erebonian arc with Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4.

What is particularly exciting with this video  (seen below) is that longtime fans get our first glimpse at the legendary Bracer himself, Cassius Bright, in full 3D and voiced! Those who have played through the Trails in the Sky titles back on the PSP or PC will instantly recognize him as the father of Estelle and Joshua, the heroes of the first two Sky games, and world-renowned former Bracer of the Liberl Region. Cold Steel 4 will be our first time seeing this character in 3D, and fully voiced, which fills a fan like me with giddy excitement!

Other characters featured in this trailer are the principle of the Thor’s Branch Campus, Aurelia Le Quin, the mysterious Roselia, our fellow Thors alumni, Towa Herschel, and our frenemy witch and former member of Ouroboros, Vita! You can bet that if these powerhouses will be joining the fray in Cold Steel 4, that the situation is truly dire, but you can also expect some incredibly intense battles ahead.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4 got an official localization announcement back in early April with a third spoiler-heavy trailer dropped earlier this month. The first three games were my top games of 2019, and fans of the series have a lot to be thankful for lately. We already have confirmation that this fourth entry is coming out this fall on the PS4, and next year for Switch and PC, the third game also seeing its release PC and soon on Switch, and a whole new entry is coming to Japan in August!

All of this on top of the first two Cold Steel titles getting enhanced remasters last year on the PlayStation 4 and PC to boot. It’s a great time to get into the series, and now we can only hope we will get new ports of the Trails in the Sky games and the currently Japan-only entries that take place in the Crossbell region!
