Today, Seattle-based developer Runic Games and publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment’s action-adventure game, Hob, has finally released for PlayStation 4 and PC. As standard, to celebrate the launch, the above-mentioned pair also released a brand-new, official launch trailer.

Runic Games was founded in 2008 by Travis Baldree (creator of Fate), Eric Schaefer, and Max Schaefer (co-founders of Blizzard North, creators of Diablo). Before Hob, it released Torchlight and Torchlight II, in 2009 and 2012 respectively. As you can see, quite a decent amount of time has passed between the studio’s second and third projects.

Hob is a self-described vibrant and suspenseful action-adventure game that is set in a world in disarray. In it, players take on the role of a silent protagonist who is seeking to help the planet in peril by exploring it and figuring out how to mend it.

The game’s entire journey is notably wordless — akin to games like Inside and Little Nightmares — and thus the story unravels via planet exploration.

The gameplay loop consists of planet traversal via a special mechanical glove-arm-thing, puzzle solving, battling rogue creatures, and befriending little lifeforms called Sprites.

The more you explore and the more you solve, the more the world around you will began to repair and transform, which will open new areas to further explore, and of course advance the narrative.

Hob is available for $19.99 USD. Below, you can check out the aforementioned trailer:
