We are just one week away from the launch of X.D. Network’s Unity remake of Freebird Games’ critically acclaimed To the Moon. It’s still on track to hit its January 16 release so its developers released a brand new launch trailer for the game. Not only does this video give us our first truly all-encompassing look of the remake, but it also serves as a recreation of its own that avid fans of To the Moon may recognize. Check out the trailer below:

That’s right, this trailer is a remake of To the Moon’s original trailer on Steam from 2o11. Like this remake as a whole, the differences are subtle but present. For those of you that are unaware, the original version of Freebrid Games’ classic was made on an old version of RPG Maker, as such, it has always been difficult to bring it to other platforms. That being said, X.D. Network has gone through the effort of recreating the whole game in Unity. Today’s trailer indicates that those efforts were not in vain as it looks like a slightly refined version of the RPG Maker original.

While the original version of To the Moon is still available for PC, X.D. Network’s Unity recreation will launch for Nintendo Switch on January 16. The Switch port’s normal price will be $11.99, though it will be discounted by 20% for the first two weeks after its launch.
