After officially announcing the casting of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s upcoming The Witcher series last month, the show has now found the actors that will be filling two of the largest supporting roles.

The Hollywood Reporter today revealed that Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra have been cast as Ciri and Yennefer respectively in Netflix’s The Witcher. Allan, a young actress who is 17-years old, previously starred in The War of the Worlds and Into the Badlands. Chalotra, a relatively new actress, currently only has two acting credits in that of The ABC Murders and Wanderlust.

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the showrunner of The Witcher, said that the casting process for this series has been ongoing since June. At this time, they have cast nearly 50 actors to work on the project. For the role of Ciri specifically, Hissrich said that they saw over 200 actresses audition for the role before landing on Allan. She also said that despite casting such a well-known lead with Cavill, they didn’t purposefully opt to cast lesser-known actors in supporting roles to balance this out. From the beginning, they have only looked to cast the best actors for a given role.

Currently, The Witcher doesn’t have a release window and the show is still in pre-production. Hissrich told The Hollywood Reporter however that full-production will be starting soon.
