CD Projekt Red rolled out a new patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt today, but unless you can understand Simplified Chinese you’re not going to get much out of it.
The update comes in at over 500 MB according to the Steam user SagnolTheGangster (nice) who posted to the general discussion board and got an official answer from Łukasz Babiel, CDPR QA:
Hey, we’ve added support for Simplified Chinese. We had to add Simplified Chinese strings file, update the executable and one of patch.bundle files for that.
If you had mods installed it may happen that this update resulted in game not starting. It’s due to the fact that if Steam sees an update, it compares the files you have with the files on servers and overrides them if there’s a difference. So your mod scripts could be overridden. If you install your mods once more the game should work, as we didn’t change scripts and their relation to code.

This surprised some players on Steam who noticed the update downloading as update 1.31 was supposed to be the final patch on PC and a hotfix for some text display issues and other smaller technical problems. That update was September 2016, with over two years having passed since. While Witcher 3 won’t be receiving any more content Gwent and Thronebreaker have recently released on PC with console versions coming this December.
