In the eleven months since Deck13 and Focus Home Interactive released The Surge on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, they have continued to support the game with a steady stream of updates and DLC, both freed and paid. Today, the developers released the free Cutting Edge DLC Pack, bringing new weapons, armor, and enemies to the game.

The three new armor sets are called the Angel, the Asclepius, and the Nano Ward, and all give buffs when the complete set is worn. The Angel armor set was originally designed to be used in space, but on earth it gives players faster attacking speeds and better energy gains. The Asclepiusis was made to assist military veterans, so it has health regenerating powers. Finally, the Nano Ward armor was made with brand new technology, and actually gives blocks some explosive powers.

Meanwhile, the new weapons are called the Dark Star, Engelhart, and Last Aid. While the Dark Star is super notable, the Engelhart is a extremely hot weapon that can scald and scar enemies, but hurt the player as well. Meanwhile, the Last Aid is based on a surgical tool, and can easily tear through enemies. All of these weapons and armor can be found on six new enemies within the game, and they can be found in the Abandoned Production Factory, Executive Forum, and Nucleus.

You can check out some screenshots of the new armor and weapons below. The Surge and its Cutting Edge DLC Pack are currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. If you are a fan of the first game, you’ll probably be happy to hear that a sequel is coming next year; if you haven’t tried the game for yourself, you can pick it up on Amazon.
