The Sinking City is an upcoming action adventure game with a heavy focus on investigating the town inspired by the work of H.P. Lovecraft. The team at Bigben Interactive have been putting out a number of intriguing trailers over the last few weeks. Today, they’re back again with a trailer that shows off the game’s town, atmosphere, and giant tentacle monsters. Give it a look below.

As you can see, this is a dark, moody game that digs deep into Lovecraft universe. Players will take on the character of Charles W. Reed, a 1920s private investigator. You arrive in Oakmont, Massachusetts and find the town being overwhelmed by a flood.

Reed has come to the city to find the source of the visions he’s been experiencing as of late. As you move through the open world, you’ll discover a mind-bending adventure. Because you’re a P.I., your main avenue for solving problems is to investigate scenes and search for clues. To help you do that well, the game gives you a few abilities that give you extrasensory powers of observation.

However, when the situation hits the proverbial fan, you do have the ability to deal with any enemy you might face. Reed is a Navy veteran, so he knows how to use a weapon. That said, these monsters are not of this world, so fighting them off might not be as easy as you’d first assume.

The Sinking City comes to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on June 27. While you wait, feel free to check out a few of the other trailers linked below.
