The Sims turned 20 today. Feel old yet? Ever since the first game in the series launched in 2000, The Sims has been the epitome of great casual games. Of course, the series has had a lot of ups and downs over the years but it’s still insanely popular. We recently learned that The Sims 4 surpassed 20 million unique players, and EA followed that up today, on the game’s actual anniversary with a ton of fun statistics about the series and a special in-game item.

For a series as long-running and popular as The Sims, the statistics released for it are quite staggering. Overall, 1.6 billion Sims have been created by players. Within that number of Sims, EA confirmed that 6.9 million vampires, 1 million mermaids, 217,000 aliens and 173,000 Sim Toddlers had been made. Additionally, over 575 million Sim households have been created and 37 million Sim weddings have been held. For you more scandalous players out there, people have made Sims “woohoo” over 1.3 billion times. If you want to see all these staggering statistics for yourself, you can check out the large infographic below:

As I previously mentioned, The Sims 4 players will also be able to get a special item in-game to celebrate the anniversary. It’s called the 20th Birthday Hot Tub and it should be available to all players following a small update today. Other anniversary festivities were also covered in a new blog post by the developers.

The Sims games are all on PC, with The Sims 4 also being available for PS4 and Xbox One. Fittingly, The Sims 4 will also be available for free via PS Plus starting today for PS4 users.
