EXOR Studios has announced their next game is The Riftbreaker, which will combing base building survival mechanics with that of an action RPG and is set to launch at some point in 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Players control Ashley S. Nowak who is tasked with taking a one-way portal to a new planet in order to establish a base for future colonies. Ashley is accompanied by an AI-controlled Mecha-Suit as she begins to establish a base on Galatea 37. By gathering samples you can research new technologies, buildings, blueprints, weapons, items, and upgrades. As you begin to build the creatures of Galatea will begin to fight back against you though you can build defenses to aid Mr. Riggs, Ashley’s nickname for the suit, in defending your creations from destruction. All of the action takes place in a top-down, isometric viewpoint.

All of this takes place within a world created by EXOR Studios’ custom Schmetterling engine, which has now reached version 2.0 with The Riftbreaker. This was the game engine that powered EXOR Studios’ previous two games, Zombie Driver HD (2012) and X-Morph Defense (2017). EXOR’s first game was the Half-Life 2 total conversion car combat multiplayer game D.I.P.R.I.P. in 2008. Each of EXOR’s games have had positive reception on Steam and mixed/positive reception among critics.

For those who enjoy live streaming their games The Riftbreaker will incorporate some interactive streaming mechanics allowing your audience to participate in the game by voting on things such as sending in a new wave of enemies and spawning environmental disasters.
