Today NIS America announced that Nippon Ichi Software’s puzzle-platformer Usotsuki Hime to Moumoku Ouji will come west with the pretty literally translated title “The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince“.

The game will release in North America and Europe for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in 2019, as usual losing the PS Vita version that will remain exclusive to Japan. Text will be in English, while audio will be in Japanese.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, you can check out an official description below.

“Alone in the forest, a wolf sings her song. Mesmerized by this beautiful voice, a little prince from a nearby kingdom wanders into the dark forest every night to find its source. However, the little prince startles the wolf during one of his visits, and she swipes her long claws in fear and blinds him.

Now, the blind prince must trek through the dangerous forest to find a cure and restore his sight. The wolf, transformed into a beautiful princess, shall be his guide. With her ability to transform at will, she will protect the little prince at all cost. But can a blind prince survive in an all-seeing forest?”

As usual, we also get a rundown of the game’s features, which are certainly quite unique. You have to switch between wolf and princess in order to use force to counter the dangers of the forest, and kindness to lead the prince around.

  • Unleash Your Inner Monster – Transform at will between wolf and princess to guide the blind prince towards a cure. Weave through the dangerous forest, but be careful… A blind prince cannot survive in an all-seeing forest.
  • Brute Strength Meets Sharp Wit – Various obstacles will require the wolf’s strength, and others will require the princess’ wit. With so many traps and perilous hurdles that await, can the two make it safely to their final destination?
  • Lost Pages from a Forgotten Tale – With each delicate petal comes a fragment of memories shared by the wolf and prince. Collect them along your journey and paint a vivid story of friendship, love, and loss.

Of course, a trailer could not be missing from the announcement, so you can enjoy the game’s endearing illustration-like visuals. If you want to see more, you can check out a recent Japanese trailer, and another video.
