The Idolmaster Starlit Season Announced For 2020 Release on PS4, Steam

Bandai Namco revealed The Idolmaster Starlit Season on a live stream for The Idolmaster series. The Idolmaster Starlit Season is scheduled to launch in 2020 in Japan, for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. A teaser trailer and screenshots were published as well.

The Idolmaster Starlit Season runs on Unreal Engine and will include characters from the original The Idolmaster, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, The Idolmaster Million Live!, and The Idolmaster  Shiny Colors. The game will only feature female idol characters, at least for now.

The Idolmaster Starlit Season’s story begins as the producer, the player, returns to Japan after overseas training. They are then officially appointed as the producer of a special unit, joining idols from different offices together.

We have all thirteen girls from 765 Production from the original The Idolmaster.

Next, we have from The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls Mika Jougasaki, Ranko Kanzaki and Anzu Futaba. Two other unrevealed characters will also be included.

From The Idolmaster Million Live!, we have Shizuka Mogami, Mirai Kasuga, and Tsubasa Ibuki. Two mysterious characters will be revealed later on.

Lastly, from The Idolmaster  Shiny Colors, we have Sakuya Shirase, Kaho Komiya, and Tenka Osaki. The two last girls’ identities will be revealed later.

The official abbreviation for the game is Sutamasu #スタマス. The game’s producer announced on the stream that more information will be coming in April 2020.

The Idolmaster will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in July 2020. The Idolmaster Starlit Season is part of the projects for the anniversary of the franchise. It’s the first console game following  The Idolmaster Stella Stage, which launched on PlayStation 4 in December 2017. You can read more about the franchise with our past coverage.
