In an interview with IGN, Telltale Games’ CEO Jamie Ottilie says the new iteration of the developer is working to build a studio that doesn’t rely on crunch.

“We are taking a measured and methodical approach to growth in order to ensure we can provide a stable, non-crunch work environment,” says Ottilie. “We are building this into our culture from the outset.”

During this years The Game Awards, one of the world premieres was the rereveal of The Wolf Among Us 2. This news comes after it was announced that Telltale Games would be brought back from the dead by LCG Entertainment.

“Of course, we’re frustrated by people who have suggested this is opportunistic or simply a money grab for the catalog of games without even giving us a chance,” says Ottilie. “We have all jumped into this with the intention of standing the company back up and continuing the legacy of telling stories that people want to play. However, most of this was expected and, really, all we can do is put our heads down and focus on making great content worthy of the Telltale name.”

To help with development of The Wolf Among Us 2, Telltale will be working with AdHoc Studio, a separate company comprised of former developers from the original Telltale Games. Ottilie says Telltale and AdHoc discussed The Wolf Among Us 2 for awhile and they wanted to make sure it was a good partnership. Additionally, AdHoc was Telltale’s first choice to lead the narrative and cinematic direction for the game.

“All we can do is be forthcoming; we can’t control whether critics hear or believe us,” says Ottilie. “The truth is we are a company – with different ownership and management, and a different approach as to how we structure a studio in today’s market.”

There’s currently no release window for The Wolf Among Us 2. In the meantime, you can check out the re-announcement of game below.
