There is a game coming out later this month that I just can’t wait to get my hands on. You wouldn’t be wrong if you guessed that game was The Last of Us Part II. But I am not talking about that game here. I am talking about SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated. This new trailer showing off Kelp Forest has raised my hype levels to the max.
THQ Nordic posted on its YouTube channel a brand new trailer of the game that showcases SpongeBob and Patrick utilizing their arsenal of moves as they make their way through the Kelp Forest. You can take a look at the new trailer below.
Any millennial is obligated to share their love for this game. It was one of the few great licensed games during that any generation of consoles. That was a pretty rare thing at the time and even more rare now. Too many times studios were cashing in on the name of a series to try to sell copies of the game instead of, you know, making a good game. It happened to the best of us. Every kid wanted a shiny new game to go along with their favorite tv show, cartoon, or movie they loved.
What has me even more excited is how faithful Purple Lamp Studios is staying to the original while also polishing it up for today’s consoles.
