Switch Owners Can Preview Pokken Tournament DX When eShop Demo Launches Later Today

Nintendo of America revealed the official release date for Pokken Tournament DX‘s demo, available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch’s eShop.

Recently teased, the demo will officially launch on August 23 at 9:00 p.m. PT / 12:00 a.m. ET. Currently, there is no word on how many characters will be playable in the demo, but it should be offer plenty of time for Switch owners to gauge whether they will purchase the game or not when it launches worldwide on September 22.

Pokkén Tournament DX is a remaster of Wii U’s Pokkén Tournament. This will be the second title to come to the Switch as a remastered re-release from the Wii U’s library, the first being Mario Kart 8 DX. The game is being developed by Bandai Namco and combines fighting mechanics from the Tekken series with the likes Pokémon. It’ll include new monsters from the Japanese arcade version of Pokkén including  Darkrai, Croagunk, Empoleon, Scizor, and Decidueye.
