At the end of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 3v3 tournament (man, that is a mouthful), a short clip featuring the game’s Director Masahiro Sakurai informed the masses that the next DLC fighter will be announced on Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct.

The video begins with Sakurai standing in front of the venue where the finals will be, complete with an impressive stage and a giant Smash Ball. Some would say this is a perfect venue to announce a new Smash DLC. Just when it seemed like Sakurai was going to spill the beans, he announced “more information regarding that will be shared in the Nintendo Direct for E3 2019, so I hope you’re looking forward to it.”

Additionally, the current president and COO of Nintendo of America Doug Bowser got on stage to say the phrase we’ll hear a thousand times this week: “I’ve got one more thing.” Bowser announced the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Online Open June 2019; the four winners of the tournament will receive travel, accommodations, and registration for this year’s EVO in Las Vegas. If you think you have what it takes, registration for the online open is now open.

So, who do we think this mysterious character is. Well, they probably really like playing banjos, collecting puzzle pieces, and beating up witches. Maybe they like slaying demons on Mars. I guess we’ll find out in a couple of days.

Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct will begin bright and early, at 9:00 am PT and will focus on games releasing in 2019. So, at the very least, we know this second DLC fighter will be coming by December 31. It will also feature already confirmed titles, such as Luigi’s Mansion 3Pokemon Sword & ShieldThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
