Brawlout from Angry Mob Games was a somewhat late release on the Nintendo Switch in 2017, only coming out on December 19. Fortunately, this meant that the game was poised well on the Switch’s eShop right before Christmas, so Brawlout ended up selling over 50,000 copies of the game during its first two weeks on the eShop.

This news was delivered via a Tweet on the game’s official account. The developers also thank players for supporting the game, and promise that there is “more Brawlout action coming your way in 2018,” You can check out the full Tweet below:

Brawlout is just the latest indie success story on the Nintendo Switch. Titles like Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap and forma.8 sold better on that system than any other platform. Even Enter the Gungeon, which released on the Nintendo Switch just a few days prior to Brawlout, managed to sell 75,000 copies in its first two weeks on the console/handheld hybrid.

For those of you who may not know, Brawlout is a Super Smash Bros. inspired fighting game that features guest characters like Juan from Guacamelee!. The game is a good fit for the Switch, especially when you consider the fact that a Super Smash Bros. title has not yet made its way to the system, even though it is heavily requested by fans.

Brawlout is currently available on PC and Nintendo Switch and will release on PS4 and Xbox One later this year.
