French development studio Pixelnest Studio has released its latest title Steredenn: Binary Stars on Nintendo’s hybrid console the Switch today for $12.99.

Steredenn: Binary Stars is a colorful rogue-esque shoot ’em up that personally reminds me of games from the 16-Bit era of gaming. In Steredenn: Binary Stars, players can play the game solo or co-op with a buddy as you fend off the low lives that plague the galaxy. Pixelnest Studio has also confirmed that the game has a ton of replay value, and offers an excellent difficulty curve thanks to the epic boss fights, which will undoubtedly test your skill.

Other features worth noting include 42 weapons and 30 upgrades with numerous customization options, up to five ships to choose from; each with their own unique abilities and playstyle. An Arena Mode, which allows players to fight bosses they have previously defeated in the main game and serves primarily as a training mode to hone your skills and a Boss Rush mode where players will compete in a weekly selection of epic bosses and work their way up the leaderboard ranks.
