Today Spike Chunsoft released a new trailer of the upcoming visual novel Steins;Gate Elite.
The trailer showcases the opening cutscene, including the theme song “Cosmic Looper“performed by Kanako Ito, who is well known for having lent her voice to the songs of quite a few visual novels by mages./5pb. and Nitroplus. Interestingly, the song was written and composed by Executive Director Chiyomaru Shikura himself.
The game retells the story of the original and extremely popular visual novel Steins;Gate by remixing the original art and footage from the anime series aired in 2011. The idea is to provide the player with a multimedia experience that should represent the best of both worlds.
On top of the original anime footage, the title will include new anime scenes created specifically for the game, since the series did not show all the routes (I know, I’m a great Mr. Obvious at times).
Steins;Gate Elite‘s western version will lose its PS Vita release and come for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It has just been delayed until early 2019. Japan will get the game a lot earlier, on September 20th.
