As part of IGN First, developer Undead Labs confirmed State of Decay 2 will have Xbox One X enhancements.

Jeff Strain, studio head of Undead Labs and executive producer of the upcoming zombie-survival game, gave the following statement pertaining to the visual and performance upgrades the console offers:

“There are significant visual enhancements we’re able to deliver thanks to the Xbox One X. Extra memory and greater processing power gives us a more stable frame rate and let’s us do more with higher resolution textures. When you’re in the game, you’ll immediately see the difference — denser foliage, detailed shadows, depth of light from farther distances, and more detailed character models. It makes the world feel more crisp, vibrant, and like real life. And of course, it lets us run the game in 4K and HDR, which a lot of fans are excited about.”

While games such as Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and Rise of the Tomb Raider contain options that let you optimize graphics and resolution when using the Xbox One X, State of Decay 2 will only have one configuration.

State of Decay 2 was announced at Microsoft’s E3 2016 Press Conference. Last week, we finally received a release date. The game will launch on May 22 for $29.99. The Ultimate Edition, which grants players early access to the game, will cost $49.99. It will also be available to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass on the day of its release.

A Collector’s Edition of State of Decay 2 was also revealed with a price of $69.99. However, it will not include a copy of the game.
