Square Enix’s newest JRPG Octopath Traveler has recently been released for the Nintendo Switch, and apparently, the physical version is selling out in quite a few shops in Japan.
The publisher took to Twitter to apologize to its customers for the game being out of stock at certain retailers and advised to consider the digital download cards available for sale at the Lawson chain of conveniences stores.
Currently, Japan is enjoying a three-day weekend due to Monday being a public holiday (Marine Day), which normally leads to increased demand for video games due to people being off work.
It’ll be certainly interesting to see which numbers Octopath Traveler debuted with, but we’ll have to wait for Wednesday when Media Create will release its weekly rankings. On Friday we’re likely to know which percentage of the initial shipment actually sold.
Octopath Traveler is currently available exclusively for Nintendo Switch. If you want to grab a copy, you can do so on Amazon.
