Games are no stranger to odd marketing stunts, but none Activision Blizzard is pulling off one of the weirdest in recent memory in order to promote the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which launches on November 13. The publisher has created a Spyro drone that breathes fire and talks, and are flying it across America to deliver a copy of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to Snoop Dog.

That is definitely a sentence that I didn’t think I’d be writing this year. Of course, this drone is at the center of a huge push for the game on social media. During the drone’s trip to meet Snoop Dog, it will be stopping at various locations around the United States that inspired levels across all three Spyro games. Today, it is starting at a castle outside of New York that inspired Stone Hill from the original Spyro the Dragon.

Activision has released a some pictures and a short video of the drone flying around there, so you can check those out at the end of this article. Once the drone reaches Snoop Dogg, you can expect some posts featuring him on Spyro’s social media accounts. Michelle Fonseca, Senior Product and Marketing Director at Activision Blizzard, gave some insight as to how we ended up with such as quirky promotion:

“We can’t wait for fans to see this awesome fire-breathing and talking Spyro drone and encourage everyone to have their phones ready to catch Spyro on his journey. Spyro the Dragon is such a pop culture classic and we’re thrilled to bring this beloved character to fans for the launch of the newly remastered series, Spyro Reignited Trilogy.”

As that comment discussed, Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a full-on remake of the first three Spyro games: Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, and Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon. The series laid dormant for years after a string of mediocre games and Spyro’s inclusion in the Skylanders series, but Activision Blizzard finally had enough faith in the property to revive it after the success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

While Spyro Reignited Trilogy was originally supposed to release on September 21, but got delayed to November 13 so the developers at Toys for Bob could polish the game further. To get a better idea of what the game is like in action, you can check out some recent screenshots and a gameplay trailer.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy releases for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 13. Those of you who want to pre-order the game can currently do so on Amazon.
