Splatoon 2’s European Splatfest Is a Battle of the Breakfasts

Splatoon 2‘s Splatfest is back, and this time European players will get the chance to duke it out based on how they prefer their breakfast. The event begins next Saturday, at 16:00 CET.

There’s the “warm” team, which includes bacon, eggs, and toast, and the “cold” team which prefers cereal and milk, fresh fruit, and croissants.

In case you weren’t familiar with Splatfest, the event pits two opinions against each other, allowing players to pick a side, earn a Splatfest tee, and compete in multiplayer against the opposite team.  The winning team earns a unique currency called Super Sea Snails, which allow them to alter the perk attributes on their clothing. Don’t worry: the losing team gets some too.

Previous Splatfest matchups have included Flight vs. Invisibility, Vampires vs. Werewolves, Ketchup vs. Mayo, and of course, whether toilet paper hangs forwards or backward.

The winner is determined by three categories: votes, solo, and team battles. That means that the winning team isn’t often the most popular, as we saw in the Ketchup vs. Mayo matchup where 73% of players chose Ketchup and Mayo was still able to win.

Splatoon 2 is available now on the Nintendo Switch. For the latest Splatoon 2 news, you can read up on the recently added Long Blaster here, as well as some of the new maps that were added last month.
