SMITE Dev Talks About Welcoming Paragon Players; Nintendo Switch Port Would Be “Cool”

Recently, DualShockers had a chat with SMITE Senior Game Designer Daniel Fishman, and he provided some interesting answers about the closure of Epic Games’ Paragon, and the possibility of a Switch port.

Fishman mentioned that SMITE has already seen an influx of new players following Paragon‘s closure announcement. Yet, he also explained that it’s always sad to see games close, as it’s best for the industry to have different developers creating different games, as it encourages them to push their game and craft.

That being said, the SMITE team is more than happy to welcome those players to their game, and they have been thinking about what they can do to make it a little more welcoming and appealing to support those players.

Specifically, developers have their eyes on the new player experience, to see if there are ways they can reduce the amount of learning necessary to get into SMITE, and make the first experience as positive as possible for players who want to make the switch.

Speaking of Switch, but this time with a capital S, while Fishman could not comment on whether SMITE will make it to Nintendo’s Console, he thinks it’d be “cool,” because the console is doing really well.

SMITE is a free-to-play MOBA currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. If you want to read more, you can learn about Season 5, and a few recent comments about the experience on consoles.
