Shining Resonance PS4 Remaster Announced by Sega; Coming Next Year

Sega just teased via Famitsu Shining Resonance Refrain, which will be a remaster of the JRPG Shining Resonance.

For those unfamiliar with the title or the franchise, Shining Resonance is the latest entry of the Shining series. The game was developed by Media.Vision and initially released for PS3 in December 2014. One of the most charming elements of the game is the lovely character design by Tony Taka.

The game will be released in Japan exclusively for PS4 on March 29th, 2018. Since the original game was not localized in English, it remains to be seen whether the remaster will make it westwards, but being on PS4, there might be a better chance of a localization.

Of course the new release will include improved graphics, on top of a special Refrain Mode including new story contentA Premium Fan Box collector’s edition is also planned, and it will include several goodies for the fans.

Below you can see a (very small) image of the article that will appear on Weekly Famitsu this Thursday.

Personally, I really hope for Sega to finally see the light and bring this game to the west. We have missed out during the PS3 era, and as a massive fan of Tony Taka’s art, I’m ready to chain myself to the gates of Sega’s headquarters to get a localization. We can only hope that the installed base of the PS4 will convince them to make a move.

For the moment, we can only wait and see.
