With its announcement last month, the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster thrilled fans of the long-running RPG series with a remastered take on a classic title. While fans are still waiting for more details on the next mainline installment of the series with Shin Megami Tensei 5, the SMT3 remaster will seem to hold over fans with its release on PS4 and Switch early next year. However, Atlus has confirmed that alongside the revival of SMT3, the publisher also has announced that we’ll get to see the return of a classic meme with it. Yes, SMT3: Nocturne HD Remaster will, in fact, be featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry™ series.

Developer Atlus has announced that Dante will be available as a DLC pack for Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster when the game releases in Japan this October. The publisher shared a new trailer showing Dante in action in the RPG remaster, with details confirming that he’ll be available through the “Maniax Pack” for 980 yen (about $10 USD).

Dante was originally included in Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne Maniax, the second iteration of SMT3 which was ultimately released to Western markets such as the US and Europe. This of course was the birth of the infamous meme that touted Dante’s inclusion in the game, despite having a trivial role in the game itself, but presumably played up to appeal to gamers that were more familiar with the demon-killing badass from the Devil May Cry series.

The SMT3 remaster was officially revealed last month during the Nintendo Direct Mini, where Nintendo showcased some of its upcoming third-party titles coming to the Nintendo Switch. Atlus seemed to make the biggest impressions by not only confirming the SMT3 remaster’s release, but also showcased a new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei 5 and confirmed that the long-awaited RPG (which was one of the earliest games announced for the Nintendo Switch) is finally coming next year.

Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne HD Remaster will release for PS4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan in October, and will follow with a worldwide release sometime in spring 2021.
