Shakedown: Hawaii is a top-down, open-world adventure game in the vein of the Grand Theft Auto series. The title released on PC, PS4, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch back in May last year, before coming to the Nintendo DS and strangely, the PS3, Wii and Wii U earlier this year.

Now, to add to an already extensive list of consoles, the title is getting a brand new release on the PS5 tomorrow, December 15. The game will feature “Cross-Buy”, meaning anybody who has previously purchased a digital copy of the game on any Sony platform will be able to download the new PS5 version for free. The PS5 version of Shakedown: Miami will come with all previous content as well as the new difficulty mode.

The game won’t be a simple rerelease of the previous version and its content however as it will feature support for the PS5’s DualSense controller. The developers say that the controller’s adaptive triggers give weapons “a more distinctive feel” and that it also delivers a “whole new level of vibration”.

Alongside the controller update, the game will now feature a much-requested Platinum Trophy, as well as an expanded trophy set. Unfortunately, as the PS5 version of Shakedown: Hawaii incorporates features that the legacy platforms won’t have access to, the new trophies will only be available on the PS5.

Despite a new PS5 release, the wait for an Xbox One or Xbox Series S|X version of the game, unfortunately, continues however. Back when the game released, developer Vblank Entertainment stated that they were “releasing on platforms that I’ve already released on [for predecessor Retro City Rampage]”.
