FromSoftware announced a Sekiro manga adaptation spinoff focused on tutorial NPC Hanbei. The manga is titled Sekiro Side Story: Hanbei the Undying. It’ll be pre-published digitally for free on Comic Walker in Japan, and the first chapter will launch on May 27.

Sekiro Side Story: Hanbei the Undying‘s story is supervised by FromSoftware, and the manga is drawn by Shin Yamamoto, who also drew one of the Monster Hunter manga adaptations, Monster Hunter: Flash Hunter.

Yen Press already announced it licensed Sekiro Side Story: Hanbei the Undying in the US, but hasn’t announced when the manga will launch there yet.

Yen Press also published the manga’s synopsis and preview pages, seen above.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Sekiro sold over 2 million copies in less than ten days. Disturbing mods and unusual runs, one of which with the Gamecube DK Bongos controller, are already part of the game’s history. Needless to say, we’ve reviewed Sekiro ourselves as well.
