As expected, Microsoft has been pulling back the curtain on tons of Xbox Series X games. One of the coolest-looking ones for Dino Crisis fans like myself is Second Extinction. This three-player, co-op shooter sees Earth overrun by mutant dinosaurs. You and your squad will need to gear up and fight back against the dino menace. Give the new trailer a look.

Listen, I’ll be completely honest, if your game has dinosaurs, I’m going to be interested. That said, Second Extinction looks like it could pretty awesome. As with every multiplayer game, a lot of that will depend on whether you can get a consistent group together. But the foundation looks to be there. The trailer shows off several colorful dinosaurs with all sorts of weird mutations.

There are raptors who surge with electricity and a T-rex that makes normal T-rex look like children. It also looks like there will be tons of fun guns to shoot, which is always a plus. If the team at System Reaction can get this right, they might have a hit on their hands. With both this and People Can Fly’s Outriders seemingly dropping in the same year, it’s going to be a great time for trios that love shooting games.

Second Extinction launches on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One. We don’t yet have a firm release date; however, a beta will hit the PC version later this summer. Presumably, we’ll learn much about both the game and when it’s coming out around then.
